Kennedys Bush Track is a steady climb along a farm track from above the Halswell Quarry up to the Summit Road. This is a big contrast to the very rough, steep & rutted Worsleys Track. The two can be combined for a challenging 2 hour trip.
KENNEDYS BUSH TRACK TO THE SUMMIT ROAD (~1 - 1.5 HOURS)
Starting from Halswell Quarry, head up Kennedys Bush Road. After about 2km the seal ends and you continue up a farm track, which climbs steadily to the Summit Road. There is one short down hill section about half way up, but apart from this, be prepared for a long steady grind.
Once at the Summit Road, turn left and ride for about 1.5km before turning left onto a short road that leads up to the start of Worsleys Track.
NOTE: This track is closed from August to September during lambing.
WORSLEYS TRACK TO CASHMERE ROAD (~30 MINUTES)
The top section of Worsleys track is a very rutted and steep 4WD track - also known as the 'Body Bag'. If you survive this section, it goes onto the sealed Worsleys Road for a very fast down hill ride. Watch the tight hairpin about two thirds of the way down. From the bottom it's an easy ride along Cashmere Road back to the Quarry.
