Due to the recent earth quakes, many of the tracks on the Port Hills have been closed because of the rock fall hazard. You can check the Christchurch City Council website for which tracks are affected here

Hanmer Springs Tracks
The Hanmer Springs Mountain Bike Club spends countless hours and lots of bucks to maintain these trails.
One way to support the club is by purchasing a map from the information centre which gives all of the trail and forest access information and helps out the club. Proceeds from the map go back to the club and into trail maintenance and development.Also, look out for the Hammerhead race, held on the first Sunday of December each year as another way of supporting the efforts of the club in Hanmer.
