The
Dog Stream Track starts off at a very easy gradient beside Dog Stream.
Once you get onto the Jolliffe Saddle Track, the gradient becomes much
steeper and becomes a challenging climb up to the saddle before a
sometimes technical decent back down towards Pawsons Rd.
DOG STREAM TRACK (~15 - 20 MINUTES)
Go
in off Jolllies Pass Road past the Department of Conservation and
follow the road up past the Camp Track sign to the start of the Dog
Stream Track. An easy ride following the stream through brush and bush
before the turn off onto Jolliffe Saddle Track.
JOLLIFFE SADDLE TRACK (~20 - 30 MINUTES)
As
soon as you turn onto the Jolliffe Saddle track the gradient becomes a
lot steeper. There is quite a climb through the forest up to the
saddle, where there are great views of Hanmer and the surrounds. The
decent is a mix of nice flowing track with some technical sections as
well. There is another small climb before getting onto the Red Rock
Track which takes you back down to Pawsons Road.
